TEACHING/MENTORING/CURATORIAL

2016 The Art of Science: I collaborated with graduate students and postdoctoral researchers from University of Chicago and Northwestern University to advise and install artwork inspired by their scientific research. I also assisted with the event set-up for this 2ndFridays' Gallery Night, organized by the Chicago Arts District.

2015 - 17, Kitchen Sink: I volunteered and served as a professional guest artist for a weekly student-run painting group that sought to foster a stronger visual arts community at the University of Chicago. Here, I helped introduce approximately 30+ undergraduate non-art majors to the basic fundamentals of drawing and painting, along with various techniques and strategies, offering critiques and advice as needed.

2014 - 16, The Figure Drawing Sessions: I facilitated monthly figure drawing sessions at the Burton-Judson Courts, a residential house on the University of Chicago campus. The sessions were designed to establish a creative, healthy, and productive environment for expression among the student body. The sessions were open to all undergraduates who wanted to develop their observational drawing skills by providing them with an opportunity to draw from a nude model.

2003 - 05, Art Studio Manager: I served as an Art Studio Manager in a busy, multi-faceted fine art studio environment where I was responsible for coordinating monthly exhibitions of emerging to mid-career artists, scheduling weekly figure drawing & painting classes, and managing the facility’s day-to-day operations.

2003 Under Thirty, Over Twenty: I conceptualized, designed, and curated the Exhibition "Under Thirty, Over Twenty" a fascinating survey of Northern California Artists of that age group. I was responsible for the preparation and distribution of promotional materials, design layout, and installation of the exhibit, and facilitating the relationships between artists and prospective clients.
